The important factor is that Hitmix Express cannot handle VFR (variable framerate) very well. When it comes to the export, use the same frame rate as the source file. When you are finished encoding the file in a CFR (constant framerate) you can edit it as usual in Hitfilm Express. HitFilm Express’ main selling points, includes advanced cutting tools, audio and video filters, layers and masking, compositing tools, keying for green screen effects, and support for 360 video. You can open the source file in Handbrake and then use the following settings in the “Video”-Tab: If you have this kind of issue in Hitfilm Express try using the encoding software Handbrake first on your source file to bring the framerate from a variable to a constant framerate. I tried multiple different formats and players but the issue persisted and the exported file was barely watchable regardless. But after the project was exported it showed horrible stuttering and framerate issues. During the editing process within Hitfilm everything worked fine and no issues were apparent. Today I stumbled upon a really annoying issue in Hitfilm Express after the export of my edited video file.
